Don't Tiles Break When They're Walked On?

Tiles are definitely much more sensitive than most other roofing materials. Upfront, yes sometimes tiles do break while the roof is being cleaned. For the most part though if one takes the necessary precautions and is equipped with the knowledge of how to properly walk on a tile roof there is no need for apprehension.

Where possible Practical Pressure makes use of walk boards which takes the weight off of the individual tiles making it safer for the roof.

It should be noted that it is rare to see a tile roof that is not in need of some repair, especially if no repairs have been made since the time of application. During settling and the continued process of the cement curing some tiles crack. People walking on the roof for holiday lighting, painting and gutter cleaning over the years also contributes to broken tiles. You should expect the need for at least some repair when you have your tile roof cleaned. If Practical Pressure damages tiles or if there are only a few broken tiles we can usually replace these at no additional cost.
